PoGoPit - What I've been working on, and what's to come

What actually happened over the last week on PoGoPit. Why it exists, what changed, what's still broken. No roadmap slides.
I didn't plan to build a whole site. PoGoPit started as something I'd poke at after work, one tool, then two, then "fine, I'll just build the whole trading site." Somewhere in there it stopped being a hobby. It's the first tab I open in the morning and the last one I close at night. The addiction is real, I'm not going to pretend otherwise.
This is what actually happened over the last week or so. Why it exists, what changed, what's still broken. No roadmap slides, just the work.
If you already use the live trade feed, most of what's below is the reason the site's looked a little different every few days.
Why I'm doing this
Trading in this game still lives in Discords and Reddit threads where your post gets buried in about five minutes. Meanwhile raid bosses, egg pools, research tasks, and Rocket lineups sit in five other tabs. I wanted one place to post a real offer with real details, match it against what you actually own, and check the day's game data without leaving.
That's PoGoPit, free, fan made, not affiliated with Niantic, Nintendo, or The Pokémon Company (yes, people still ask).
The rebrand
The site's fully on PoGoPit now, living at pogopit.com. New branding, a proper OG image, a cleaner nav (Trade, Raids, Tools, Game data), and more SEO work than I'd like to admit so search engines can actually find the pages people care about.
A few smaller things snuck in too: password reset finally works, along with login email recovery. Confirm dialogs now look like the site instead of ugly browser popups. And if your phone struggles with falling sprites and card sparkles, there's a floating toggle to kill the FX entirely.
Making inventory look like the actual game
This is where most of the week went, honestly. A trade's only as good as the mon on the card, so I pushed the bag closer to what you'd see in GO itself: Dynamax and Gigantamax flags, a Lucky flag with gold FX, a "Stuck in Gym" tag so you don't accidentally list something you can't trade. Special backgrounds got a species-filtered picker with optional notes. Costumes have better sprite fallbacks now instead of breaking silently.
Auto CP now calculates from IVs and level, including form-specific stats, Origin Giratina and its weird friends included. That also meant fixing learnsets so Origin actually gets Shadow Ball instead of whatever the base form knows. Frustration shows up on shadows, Return on purified, and search/filters cover shiny, 4-star, lucky, costume, all of it. There's CP sorting, bulk tools, and appraisal screenshot import for when you don't want to type everything by hand.
Cards look the same everywhere now too, inventory, trades, the feed. Shiny stars, shadow smoke, lucky orbs, purified wisps, all consistent. Turn it off with the FX toggle if you'd rather have a quiet UI.
Trading tools
The Trade Calculator handles Stardust cost, friendship level, Lucky odds, IV floors, candy by distance, and Friendship Friday discounts. Wanted criteria can now get as specific as inventory itself, moves, backgrounds, size, whatever matters to you. Listings can stay open to offers instead of forcing a rigid want list, and you can set AND/OR logic when you're after more than one mon back. Trades expire after 30 days now too, so the feed doesn't turn into a graveyard of stuff nobody's checking anymore.
Raids
Raid Finder does short-lived "need backup" pins with GPS. Raid Planner pulls counters straight from your own inventory, mega boosts included, and raid cards show type-based counters with movesets that actually make sense. There's timezone awareness now too, so "what's live right now" isn't just your local wall clock, the planner supports bosses that are live in other regions. If you just want the chart, Raids still has bosses, 100% IV CP, and hub times.
Messaging, and not getting your socials leaked on day one
Trading needs a way to talk that doesn't involve handing your Discord to a stranger immediately. The inbox is searchable now, with pin, archive, and delete for me. DMs are opt-in from your profile, there's a block list, and message actions show up right on trade cards when both sides allow it. Chat scroll is smoother, and read/send status actually works. Admin and confirm flows use the same glass-style modals as everywhere else on the site.
The data pages, still free
These were already the tools I opened every day, so they mostly got small fixes: Events, Raids, Eggs, Research, Rocket, a Medals checklist with progress tracking, and the CP/IV tools. Community sources still power a lot of the live data, credit stays on those pages, that's not changing.
The boring stuff that keeps the site from falling over
Performance work on the inventory scroll when a lot of cards have FX running at once. FX preference now gets remembered in a cookie instead of resetting every visit. Cleaned up the redirect mess between www and the bare domain so they stop fighting each other. And an on-page SEO pass, titles, alt text, actual link text instead of "click here," share buttons that don't sit on top of the hero image anymore.
If the site feels snappier with a full bag loaded, that's why.
What's actually on my mind next
No calendar promises, but here's roughly the order:
- Smarter matches, so that page feels less like a raw dump and more like "these are actually worth messaging about"
- Mobile polish, desktop's fine, but that's not where most people are playing
- More inventory bulk tools (import, edit, filter, sort) until a full bag stops being a chore
- Trust and spam controls for Raid Finder as more people start dropping pins
- More blog posts that are actually useful, event guides, CD plans, trade tips, mixed in with build notes like this one
- Fewer "it broke for an hour" moments. Stability over shipping more features nobody asked for.
If one of those is what you actually need, tell me on Discord or X. Loud feedback moves things up the list faster than my own opinions do.
How to actually help
PoGoPit only works if people use it. Post a real trade on the feed. Fill out your inventory so matches have something to work with. Turn on DMs if you're up for chatting. And if the Discord noise in your local group is getting unbearable, send them the link.
I built this because I play the game too much. See you on the feed.
