Giveaway Rules
These rules keep giveaways fair and free. Hosts and entrants both agree when they post or enter. PoGoPit is not affiliated with Niantic, Nintendo, or The Pokémon Company.
Free entry
There is no purchase, fee, or payment to enter or host a giveaway on PoGoPit. No cash substitute is offered for any prize.
What you can demand
Hosts must not demand any particular Pokémon from the winner. In Pokémon GO every trade still requires both trainers to send a Pokémon, but the host cannot require a specific species, shiny, or IV target as a condition of the giveaway.
One entry per person
One active entry per account per giveaway. Multi-accounting to gain extra odds is not allowed. Shared home or school networks are normal and are not automatic proof of abuse. Device tokens used by multiple accounts on the same giveaway are treated as strong evidence and may exclude extra entries, with an appeal path via contact.
Eligibility and delivery
The prize must be a Pokémon you own that can legally be traded in Pokémon GO. Mythicals (except Meltan and Melmetal), Luckies, and mons stuck in a Gym cannot be posted. You attest that the mon is still in your box, has not already been traded, and is not locked by something PoGoPit cannot see.
Winners must be able to complete the trade under current game rules (friendship, distance, Stardust, Special Trade limits). Entrants confirm this before joining.
Timing
Giveaways start when posted. The host sets an end date and time at least one hour out and no more than seven days from server time (UTC). Server time and the stored end time are authoritative. The countdown on the page is visual only.
Winner selection
When the end time hits, eligible entries freeze. Zero entries closes the giveaway with no winner and unlocks the Pokémon. One entry wins automatically. Otherwise PoGoPit draws with cryptographically secure server randomness. Odds equal 1 divided by the eligible entrant count. Drawing does not depend on a browser staying open.
Claim, redraw, cancel
The winner has 24 hours to accept or decline. Decline or no response draws another still-eligible entrant without penalizing the host. After accept, both sides have seven days to finish, with one optional mutual extension.
Hosts may cancel only while there are zero active entries. After someone enters, cancellation needs an administrator.
Disputes and strikes
Either participant can report a fulfillment problem. Admins review timestamps, system events, and conversation references. A confirmed host delivery failure is a giveaway strike: first strike blocks new giveaway posts for seven days; second strike is a permanent giveaway posting suspension. These do not automatically ban the whole PoGoPit account. Contact support to appeal.
Public names
If you win, your public display name appears on the completed giveaway. Private email and other identity data are never shown.
Generous Trainer badge
Completing three verified giveaways to unique recipients earns the Generous Trainer badge on your profile. The profile also shows how many giveaways you have completed. There are no paid boosts, paid entries, or improved odds.
User-hosted prizes
Prizes come from the host inventory. PoGoPit does not hold Pokémon, Stardust, or real-world items. Delivery happens in Pokémon GO between the two trainers.
Anti-abuse data
To limit multi-account entries we may store short-lived, keyed hashes of network and first-party device signals tied to an entry. We do not collect government ID, contacts, or advertising IDs. See the site privacy notes for purpose and retention.
